If you make it real, it is real.

If You Make it Real, It is Real.

Remember the movie from early 2018 by Amy Schumer, I Feel Pretty? (watch the funny trailer here)

The storyline is about an insecure woman named Renee who bonks her head at the gym and all her insecurities about her body and looks disappear instantaneously.

YES TO THAT!

It was a really sweet and uplifting film because it illustrated this simple truth: whatever your powerful mind perceives to be real, is.  And people will start to respond accordingly.

And that can apply to anything in your life…relationships, work, money.

When I work with a client, sometimes fears will come up about how to use her colors or what her next steps might be to truly live her purpose as authentically as possible.

There is doubt.

And I get that.  In spades.

When we try something new or try it a different way from what we know we are comfortable with, there’s fear.

And we have just two choices:

  • remain stuck, or
  • take one tiny step out into the unknown and ‘skywalk.’

“Skywalking,” as one of my friends calls it, is about trusting your inner voice and wisdom and walking out into the unknown.  You may have heard me say this before but it’s about “living the question.”

It’s a visual and feeling experience for me and most likely will be different for you.  But skywalking looks as if I’m walking on a beautiful wide glass path above the clouds reflecting iridescent rainbows. If I get that visual when I’m nervous about a decision, I KNOW it’s right and TRUST it will be so.

Even yogi’s practice these principles. Lahiri Mahasaya provided this advice to Yogananda when he was concerned about his weight, “whatever your powerful mind believes very intensely [will] instantly come to pass.” (read the full story here)

Trusting your inner voice is simple once you get the hang of it.  Just ask for what you need to see/hear/feel to know.

But…if you’re still in the midst of that inner work and come up with nothing, try this to give yourself a jumpstart:

Act AS IF

Just like Renee in “I Feel Pretty.” Act as if you are amazingly beautiful. (You are.)

Act as if you have that promotion or new client. (You do.)

Act as if you love color and thoroughly enjoy all the colorful support from your palette. (You will.)

This doesn’t take away the work of listening to that inner voice but it does give you a jumpstart to trusting yourself and seeing the REAL magic of who you are.

And hopefully you’ll see a few iridescent rainbows in the process. ;-)
